We at Alaafia Kids love music! Not only do children possess a natural appreciation of music, they also love to beat out a rhythm on a drum or xylophone, or simply on pots and pans! Especially for the very young, whose primary occupations are learning language and becoming mobile, singing out a rhythmic song while dancing to it is an enjoyable way to practice and master linguistic skills as well as motor abilities.

Our home is filled with music, all kinds of it, all the time. There’s always someone singing, dancing, or just humming along to a favorite song. We love music so much that we sing and dance along with any song, even if it’s in a language other than French or English, (which we speak at home), and even if we don’t understand what we’re singing! We sing and dance for the pure joy of it.

Our favorite music comes from Africa and the Caribbean. We just can’t stop the beat!! For your listening pleasure, we at Alaafia Kids are offering our very favorite CDs designed especially to appeal to little people’s ears. Many sing of peace, love, and joy for everybody, everywhere. Most have a multicultural theme, so the selections come from diverse countries all over the world, and some are sung in languages native to particular countries.
